News Notes –
Soon the Main office will release info regarding RVA and storage reservations for the 2022/2023 season. We will provide details once they are released.
Another report of a “near miss” involving a bicycle. If you are an avid rider or just use your bike as a mode of transportation in the park, please obey the stop signs. It takes only a couple of seconds more to stop and proceed on your way. Keep in mind Sundance roadways are not for training for the Tour de France. Golf carts, scooters and vehicles do need to stop at all marked intersections as well.
Walkers and runners please carry and use a flashlight as you navigate through the park during the evening and early morning hours. Wearing bright colors or reflective gear also helps to be seen by vehicles.
Smoke Signal articles need to be sent to sundance1activities@hotmail.com or dropped off at the office by Thursday 1/20. All clubs, shops, and residents are invited to submit news.
Missouri Potluck your time and date has been changed. Please update your calendar to Saturday, 2/19, 3:30-5:30pm in the Hang Out Room. Originally you were schedule for Saturday 2/12. Sign up is in Activities and thank you!
Town Council nomination forms are available in the Activity office. They need to be returned to the Town Council box by Monday 2/21 and yes you can nominate yourself providing you pay rent for at least five months. Other details regarding qualifications are noted on the form.
Regretfully due to medical challenges, Couples Dance held on Tuesday and Thursday in the Hole in the Wall has been cancelled for the remainder of the season. Thank you for your understanding.
Today 1/19 –
Organ Stop Pizza Tag-Along participants should plan on leaving the park at 11:45 to allow ample travel time for your 1pm lunch. We do have directions available at the Activity office! Have fun and enjoy the music!
At 10am the Sundance Riders will be leaving the Ranch House for a ride to Gila Bend through Maricopa. Lunch will be at Little Italy in Gila Bend and this ride is approximately 125 miles. See you at the Ranch House!
RC Racers will be out at the track today at 1pm. Ladies! We will be having our Powder Puff Race Wednesday 2/9 at 1pm at the track. All ladies are encouraged to sign up in Activities even if you don’t have a car to race! There will be prizes awarded too! Contact Marc at 204-746-5098 for details.
Shuffleboard will be playing today at 9:30am and 0.50 to play. Water Volleyball will be playing at Pool 2 at 1pm.
Gamblin’ Room has the Sundance Book Club meeting at 9:30am. All avid readers are invited to join us for great discussion. Mah Jongg will be played at 1pm. Cribbage and Progressive Hand Foot and Toe are played at 6:30pm.
Hang Out Room will have Euchre being played at 7pm.
Hole in the Wall is busy with Walk Exercise at 9am and Senior Stretch at 10:30am. Dining with the Duffies will be 11am-1:30pm. A smothered grilled pork chop dinner or a grilled caesar chicken wrap are on the menu!
Thursday 1/20 –
Hearing Life will be at the Ranch House conducting free screenings. We do have four appointment times left for this event! Bridge is played at 7pm.
Art Barn will have Open Art at 9am-12pm and 1-3:45pm. Any and all art forms are encouraged to be worked on during this time. Stop on in and see what creative artists we have in the park!
Gamblin Room will have Hand Foot & Toe playing at 9am. Make sure to sign up for the February Tournament during regular play. Pinochle is playing at 1pm and Mexican Train (dominoes) is at 7pm.
Hang Out will have a Hands Across the Border meeting at 9am. Darts will be played at 3:30pm and if you want to try, we do have darts available for you!
Hole in the Wall has walk Exercise at 9am . Lunch will be served by Dining with the Duffies at 11-1:30pm Menu will be Baked Spaghetti dinner or Ham and Bean soup with salad combo. Line Dance will be at 1:30pm.
Billiards has tournament play at 9am and men and ladies are invited to join us.
Don’t forget that our Pools offer several exercise options. Pool 1 has Aquasize is 7-8am Monday through Friday. Water Exercise is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8-9am. Water Aerobics is held Monday through Friday 9-10am. Pool 2 has Lap swim 8-9am. Water Walkers are at 9-10am. We also 2 spas available to relax those tired muscles.
Congrats to the Sundance Colts and Mustangs on their Monday wins! Colts won against Palm Creek Diamondbacks 13-9. Mustangs defeated the Fiesta Grande Scorpions 14-8. Come on out and cheer our teams on to victory Thursday 1/20 at the Palm Creek field. Mustangs take the field at 11:30am against the Robson Ranch Roadrunners and the Colts play at 12:45pm against Robson Ranch Rangers.
Tickets are now available for the Sundance Valentine’s Dinner and Entertainment on Saturday 2/12 at the Hole in the Wall. A Four course dinner will be offered with Crab Cake as appetizer, garden side salad with a choice of Chicken Alfredo or Shrimp Alfredo accompanied by asparagus and garlic bread or Stuffed pork tenderloin topped with cranberry chutney, garlic mashed potatoes, and season asparagus. Topped off with Strawberry Cheese cake! Dine in or take out dinner only is $13 each. VIP tickets include dinner as noted and entry to the Eric Giliam Magician Show for $23 each. Entertainment only tickets are $12 each or $13 at the door! Dinner will be prepared by Dining with the Duffies!
We also have tickets for Josh West Band which will be a dance at 7pm and on Saturday 1/29! Brad Fitch performing a Tribute to John Denver, will be here Wednesday 2/2, tickets $12/$13 at door. Poppy Harpman and the Storm will be playing danceable R& B music for all. First time playing at Sundance and tickets are $10 in advance $11 at the door.
