Good Bye Summer Season at Sundance

While our weather doesn’t reflect a “winter” season, our calendar does.  Today is the last day of our summer calendar. Thank you to Joyce J. for your help in planning the summer activities and events.  Your effort was greatly appreciated by many!

Business first!

Maintenance Notes –  The closing of Pool 2 for cleaning Mon. Oct. 18 – Sun. the 24th has been cancelled for now.

Pool Hours –  Pool 1 will be open beginning Fri. Oct. 15, 7am-10pm.  If the morning is brisk, the water may not be as warm as usual due to a heater that has decided to have an attitude.   Pool 2 opens Fri. Oct. 15 at 8am – 10pm for the winter season.

Activity Office –

Weekly Events will be available Fri. Oct. 15!  This communication provides you a week overview for every room and the activity is being held! Pool 1 and Pool 2 also have their activities noted as well.  Stop by the Activity Office for your copy during business hours.

Room calendars with scheduled events will be posted by tomorrow, Fri. Oct. 15.

Smoke Signal articles have a  deadline of Wed. Oct. 20 for the November edition.  All groups and guests  are encouraged to drop off articles at the Activity office or email them in to sundance1activities@hotmail.com.

Flu Shot Clinic – We are pleased to report that Walgreens will be hosting their Flu Shot Clinic on Mon. Nov. 08, 1-3pm at the Hole in the Wall.  Sign up in  Activities by Wed. Nov. 03.  Vaccines that will be available are the flu,  high dose flu (over 65), Pneumonia and Shingles.  If you have had the Pneumonia and/or Shingles vaccine, please be able to provide the date you had the previous dose when signing up.  This helps the Pharmacists when ordering product for the event.  Make sure you check with your insurance on the co-pay for the shingles vaccine as it can be quite costly and bring your insurance info with you on the day of the clinic.

Upcoming Fun –

Don’t forget that there is a card making class at the Ranch House, Fri. Oct. 15 at 1pm.  Fee is $10 for 4 cards. Bring tiny scissors if you have them.

The Gourd Shop will have an orientation on Mon. Oct. 25 at 12:30pm and at 2pm at the Gourd Shop (Bldg. #1) Sign up in Activities for one of the times and learn about the process of making beautiful works of art from gourds.  A beginner class will be held on Mon. Nov. 1 at 9am.

Sign up in Activities for the Progressive Crochet class that will begin Wed. Nov. 3, 1-3pm  in the Art Barn. $10 per class. Sign up deadline is Wed. Oct. 27.

Rooms will be open beginning Mon. Oct. 18.  Please be patient if a room isn’t open as it may be due to the Coordinator hasn’t arrived or they don’t have enough Monitors.  Check with Activites to see if the room is open.

Stained Glass is looking for Monitors.  If you have done stained glass before and would be interested, stop by Activities and we  will provide you with contact info.  They do plan on being open on Mon. Oct. 25.  Please check their door for hours.

If you’re a Duplicate Bridge player, please join us on Wed. Oct. 20 in the Gamblin’ Room at 12pm.  If you have partner, bring them along, if not we will find one for you!

Woodcarving is held in the Gamblin’ Room on Tue. and Fri. mornings 9am-Noon.   Come on in on Tue. Oct. 19 and learn about the art of carving.  We have tools you can borrow and beginner kits too.
