Busy Monday and Tuesday Sundance!

News Notes –

A very big thank you to all who participated and attended the Activity Expo.  We hope everyone enjoyed and learned more about the amenities we offer.  Keep in mind that not all groups, clubs or activities were represented.

Cold and flu season is here and it is going around.  Please remember to wash hands frequently.  You are welcome to wear a mask and if you are under the weather, please stay home and give yourself a few days to get better.

Smoke Signal articles for February are due in by Thursday 1/20.  Drop them off at the Activities office or email to sundance1activities@hotmail.com .  All clubs, groups, rooms and residents are encouraged to submit articles.

There is no mail today in observance of Martin Luther King Day.  Normal hours resume tomorrow.

Did you just arrive at Sundance? If so, please call the Main office and let them know are here. They are open 9am-4pm Monday – Friday 520-426-9662.

Town Council nomination forms are available in the Activity office.  You can nominate yourself and you can return them to the Town Council box once complete.

Stained Glass and Lapidary are selling raffle tickets!  Stained Glass has a beautiful picture of a cactus with sunset displayed at their shop.  Tickets are 7 for $5 or $1 each and can be purchased when the shop is open which is every day.  Lapidary is raffling off a rock clock or shark tooth earrings.  They are on display in Activities and tickets are $1 each or 7 for $5.  All proceeds will go to purchase supplies or equipment for each shop.

Today 1/17-

Caywood Farm Tour is today!  You will want to leave by 12pm for 1pm tour.  Hale Theatre ticket holders for Nunsense 4pm performance should leave by 2pm today to allow for ample travel time.

Art Barn will have oil, watercolor and acrylic painting at 1pm.

Gamblin’ Room has Mah Jongg at 10am, Bridge at 1pm and Hand foot & Toe at 6:30pm.  If you want to play in the February Tournament you must sign up during regular play days.

Cactus Needles will be working on their charity items in the Hang Out Room at 10am.  Crafty Ladies will work on various crafts at 1pm  and everyone is welcome to either group.  Ping Pong is played at 7pm.

Hole in the Wall offers Walk Exercise at 9am, Senior Stretch will be there at 10:30am.  Musical Review show practice is at 12pm and Jammers will be playing at 6:30pm!

Ranch House Meetin’ Room will have Beginner Origami Class at 1pm.  We still have room for you so come on up and learn the art of origami.

Shuffleboard will be played at 9:30am and it is 0.50 for the day of play.  Water Volleyball will play at 1pm at Pool 2

RC Racers will be at the track at 1pm.  There is a sign up sheet in Activities for the Ladies Power Puff race that will be held on Wednesday 2/9.  Even if you don’t have a car, sign up as we have cars for you to use.  It’s great fun and there will prizes too!

Sundance Softball Teams will take the Palm Creek Field this morning.  Colts will play Palm Creek Diamondbacks at 10:15am and at 11:30am the Mustangs play the Fiesta Grande Scorpions.  Go Sundance!

Tuesday 1/18 –

Fiber Art (spinning) will be offered at the Art Barn at 10am.  Fiber or Open art is at 1pm.

Gamblin’ Room will have Wood Carving at 9am, 5 Crowns is played at 9:30am.  Samba is at 6:30pm and Pinochle is played at 7pm.

Hang Out Room will have Darts at 3:30pm.  If you want to play, we do have darts you can use.  Poker is at 6pm.

Hole in the Wall has the Round Up meeting at 8:30am.  Come on in and enjoy a cup of coffee and morning munchie while learning about park news.  We also have door prizes too!  NO Couples Dance until Tuesday 1/25.  Line Dance is at 1:30pm and Bingo card sales are at 6-6:45pm with play at 7pm.

Ranch House Meetin’ Room will have Hardanger (needlework) is at 1pm and everyone who does pattern needlework is invited to join us.

Rzr Riders will meet at the McDonald’s in Florence at 8:30am  They had 10 rigs do 54 miles this past Tuesday.

Reminders-

Aluminum can collection is being done at site #171 in Sundance 1.  All proceeds are donated to the Sundance/Fairways Veterans.  #1 plastic bottles can have label and cap removed and taken to site #19 in Sundance 2.  They will be taken to the Humane Society and they receive proceeds when recycled.

Potlucks-

They are all posted in Activities on the counter.  We still are looking for a Coordinator for IL, IN, OH. And DE.

More News –

Musical Review 50’s  Rockabilly Show will be held Friday 1/21 at the Hole in the Wall at 6:30pm. $1 donation.

Mark your calendar so you attend Casino Night which will be held on Friday 1/29!

The Dessert Theater cast has decided to cancel their performances at the end of February.  The cast wants to let you know that they will be back next season!

Dining with the Duffies will be serving lunch at the Sundance Cafe Wednesday 1/19 -Friday 1/21, 11am-1:30pm.
