UPDATE – The Cobwebs Band will be performing at no charge to us ! This group is brand new to the Valley and we want to give them a warm Sundance welcome. Playing the late 60’s, 70’s, early 80’s along with pop rock, country and ballads. Saturday Nov. 7 at the Hole in the Wall 7-10pm.
The Cobwebs are musicians Sparky Robinson, Denny Miller and Steve Francois. Although this band is relatively new, these “seasoned” musicians have been part of the Arizona music scene for many years. Sparky is a singer/songwriter/guitarist who grew up in Tempe, and has played in the Phoenix area since the early 70s. While fronting the band “Gravelin and Roll”, Sparky opened for many national acts including Fleetwood Mac, King Crimson, John Stewart, Little Feat, Chris Darrow, and even Tiny Tim! Sparky is also a very prolific song writer.
Denny is a singer/rhythm guitarist/harmonica player who has been playing since the mid-sixties and worked with several Arizona classic rock bands. As a harmonica player, Denny has also appeared with various Arizona blues bands, playing at venues including The Rhythm Room in Phoenix. When New Orleans recording artist Dave Riley comes to the Valley, Denny is tapped to play harmonica with his band.
Steve plays keyboards and spent most of his musical career playing locally, most notably with Sony/Polygram artist; singer/songwriter Lewis Storey. During his 40 plus years with Lewis, Steve performed in Nashville and worked on many of Lewis’ studio recordings. Steve, Sparky and Lewis also played together in the Storey/Richards band through the 80s and early 90s.
