SMOKE SIGNAL

Sundance 1 RV Resort

From Our Manager’s Desk –

Welcome to Another Season at Sundance 1 RV Resort –

Whether you are a new guest/resident, someone who has returned (some for many, many years) or if you stay with us year-round, we would like to say we are happy you are here!!  We are looking forward to this season as it will be our first full season here at Sundance and we look forward to getting to know y’all!!!   Please be patient with us as we try to put your names to faces and keep them connected — one thing that really helps is when y’all wear your name badges!

We want to give a big shout out to all of our summer staff!  You all made Sundance an enjoyable place to be and definitely were a huge help to us as we dug in and learned all we could regarding the park. Juanita Clay did an awesome job planning activities for the summer residents and being in charge of summer coffee. She has decided to hang up her hat and pass it on after almost 20 years of service!  If you see her out & about, please give her a big thank you for all she has done!!!  Cindy Hardy & Staranne Bohl were Kate’s ‘right hand gals’ running the front desk for the summer. They were definitely kept busy with all the calls for reservations that we received and assisting our ever-increasing number of summer residents.  Mike Hardy & Dennis Bohl kept the mailroom going and were a great asset to everyone!  Stacy Ruddy was the energizer bunny keeping everything sparkly clean! New as summer hosts were Madonna Reichert & Don Maples, both were awesome and a true asset for us too. Larry Dew & Dennis Bohl kept our pools in pristine condition – even with a few mechanical issues Larry worked hard to get them up and running quickly!  Marcelino & Ricky were, as always, dependable and hard-working and did a great job keeping our park beautiful!!

A reminder to all Annuals, be sure you have registered at the office, as this gives an accurate account of who is here and so we don’t return any of your mail!! Also be sure to take time to check your unit/site and see if there are any updates/improvements that are needed so we keep the park looking it’s best!

We have a lot of new staff this year and will be introducing all of our staff at the Sundance Roundup (Monday morning meeting) on November 4th – we hope to see a BIG crowd there!  There are a lot of exciting things that Activities has planned this year so be sure to get your monthly calendar of events, you don’t miss out on any of the fun!!

Remember no matter where you live in Sundance (phase 1, 2 or 3) we are all one family who share the same desire of enjoying all that Sundance 1 RV Resort has to offer and of course — the beautiful ‘winter’ weather to boot!!!  Now kick up your heels and dig in your spurs for some rootin’ tootin’ good times with good ‘ole friends and lots of new neighbors too!!!

We, along with the entire staff, want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Kate & Tom Ebert – Managers

2 Old Dudes Sandwich Shack @ Sundance 1 RV Resort –

Starting our 3rd season at Sundance (time flies), we are offering new items on the menu. Who doesn’t like an open-faced turkey meatloaf sandwich?  We have scaled a couple things back on both size and cost, and we will be doing more “extra” events.

We are excited to be back and we actually have some changes in the kitchen that would benefit everyone at the resort. Our excitement is tempered by the fact that one of the Old Dudes is beginning a battle with cancer as we kick off the new season.

Our first day of operation is Tuesday Oct. 29 and normal hours will be Tuesday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm. We will post our schedule weekly in the bulletin board outside the Hole in the Wall, on the Sundance 1 website, the 2 Old Dudes Sandwich Shack Facebook page, and in the Activity Office. The menu will be posted as well, and we’ll let you know how to access it online when we get that.

We’ll still offer the daily featured menu for your enjoyment and encourage you to check daily to see the latest, tasty offerings.

As we have done for the last 2 years, we donate 100% of your tips to the Sundance Veterans Group. We appreciate your generosity and support.

Angel Tree –

Sundance 1 RV Resort will again have an Angel Tree located in the Activity office. 35 Angels will be available by Friday, Nov. 8. Even with the season still several weeks away, this will allow residents who wish to make Christmas brighter for a child to shop early. If you prefer to contribute money, donations are accepted the in Activities office. The donations will be used to fill the childs needs or requests. This is a great group, club, department, friends, or neighborhood project to pool resources and make Christmas memorable for a less fortunate child. Gifts should be wrapped although if you’re not able to we can wrap them. Thank you Lynn W. #77

We will meet at 10 a.m. in the parking lot outside the Hangout Room at Sundance and car pool to the 1st Flag Raising Ceremony at the future site of the Veteran’s Transition Center. Flyers about the Celebration can be found in a number of places around Sundance and Fairways.

We engage in multiple fund-raising activities during the Season including sales of clothing items at the monthly Country, raffles of donated items. Sales of poppies during Veterans Day Celebration and sales of VIP cards.

Last year our VETS group donated $3,494 to families and agencies that directly benefited needy Veterans in the Casa Grande area. We also donated over 140 work hours toward activities benefitting Veterans in need of support.

If you are new to our winter retreats, up to a challenge, want to make a difference and/or desire some common bonding please join our ranks and attend our meetings. We welcome new blood. And are open to new ideas. Thank you, Erick Ayres.
