November 2016 Smoke Signal

From the Manager’s desk…

This is my first Smoke Signal, so it will be short.

Welcome back everyone.

It has been a pleasure meeting many of you and I look forward to meeting lots more.  Unfortunately, I will probably not remember many of you.  The memory isn’t what it used to be.  I hope you all have been able to check out all the new improvements to the Park.  The Park was very busy this summer with all the upgrades.

 The Park looks wonderful!

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Jeanne and John Thalman.  They worked very hard this summer overseeing many of the improvements while still running the office.  Thank you so very much for your support, dedication and hard work.

One area that I need to mention is the dumpsters.  Please remember – we no longer have the area next to the dumpsters to place unwanted items.  All these unwanted items need to be recycled, given to a charity (such as the Mash Unit), or placed in the dumpsters.  There are some restrictions as to what can be placed in the dumpsters.  Watch your mailboxes as I will be sending out a flyer with more information on the subject.  Thank you, and I hope you all have a wonderful season here at Sundance 1 RV Resort.

Judy Dickson, Park Manager

Sundance RC Drivers

Welcome back racers!  Last year we had several new members join our club and I must say it was certainly exciting watching some of these rookies catch-up and on occasion pass some of the more experienced racers.  It will be interesting to see who dominates this year!

With the interest growing we are likely going to need to expand the drivers stand to accommodate all the drivers.  This will be high on the list of priorities for this coming season.…..

There were many people stopping by the track last year and expressed interest in getting involved.  Anyone interested in watching or getting involved are welcome to visit us at the track Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons at 1:30 to 4 pm.  Don’t be hesitant to ask questions.  One of the club members will be glad to answer questions and maybe even let you take a car for test drive…… It is lots of fun and it is NOT as easy as it looks!

TO ALL SPECTATORS.  The members really appreciate your support and watching us race each week.  However, for your own safety, please do not sit or stand too close to the track, and do not get distracted.  The cars are very fast and when an accident happens cars can clear or in some cases penetrate the safety barrier and we don’t want anyone getting struck by a car.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in November!

Angel Tree…

Lynn Wiewior, is the new chairperson for our annual Angel Tree program.   With new and exciting ideas, Lynn is a great advocate for our low income and needy Casa Grande children. Per the Seeds of Hope, many of our area children need to share household items such as toothbrushes.

The tree in the Activities Office will be on display on or before Thanksgiving for you to select a child’s name to brighten their Christmas holiday. You can select a child individually, or as a club or group banding together and coordinating their purchases.   We are hoping that with a park of this size and our ongoing generosity, we’ll be able to exceed our previous 30-35 names.

In the Christmas spirit, we thank you in advance.
