Tomorrow (12-22-18) – Let’s rock and roll with the popular That Kool Band! They’ll be playing from 7-10 in the Hole in the Wall. Tickets are $9 in advance in the Activities Office and $10 at the door.

Reminder – Koffee Klatches will not be held on Dec 23 or Dec 31. See you in January!

Voices are needed for Christmas Caroling on Sunday evening, Dec 23. We’ll meet at 5pm outside of the Activities Office. We have music – just bring a flashlight. We will ride through the park spreading joy and the Christmas spirit!

Park Offices Holiday Hours: Both the park office and the activity office will close at noon on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve days. Please call the host on duty for emergencies at 876-2777.
Please refrain from going to the park office on Dec 24 & Dec 31 as we’ll be extremely busy serving incoming guests. The drop box across from the mail room can always be used to drop off payments. A receipt will then be placed in your mail box. Thank you for understanding.
The Activity Office is staffed 7 days a week from 8:30am to 4pm.

Christmas Eve Chili Dinner (no gift exchange) – Let’s enjoy a chili dinner prepared by the 2 Old Dudes on December 24 at 5pm in the Hole in the Wall. To add to the spirit, Suzy and Craig York from Arizona City will be here with their mandolin player to lead us in carols and entertain us with their music. Meal tickets are available in the Activity Office for $7.50. Thank you!

The Activity Office is offering a new selection of caps, sweatshirts and tee shirts. Come see us!

Annual residents – Please remember to come by the office to pick up your yellow sticker & receive your copy of updated rules and regulations.

Notice to all residents – No recycling will be offered after Dec 31, 2018. Please do not put items in the recycle bins after this date. The recycling company will no longer be servicing the Casa Grande vicinity and will be picking up their bins. We have ordered another trash bin to accommodate excess trash.

Attention: All ladies who volunteered to be in our fashion show on January 18, 2019……I’ve scheduled a short meeting for us on Monday, January 7 at 9:00ish after the Koffee Klatch in the Hole in the Wall. This is a special fashion show with emphasis on women cancer survivors. Thanks gals for stepping up to the plate and strutting your stuff!

New Year’s Eve tickets are available in the Activities for $22 each which includes favors and mixers. Our popular entertainers, Gordy and Debbie, will be playing from 8pm to Midnight.

The first ever Sundance Murder Mystery Dinner is scheduled for Jan 26 at 4pm in the Hole in the Wall. WE NEED YOU!! There are 8 characters and we still need 1 woman and 1 man to complete the cast. Please consider joining us for this fun-filled evening. Contact Sue in Activities, PLEASE!

All Activities on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are cancelled due to private parties, chili dinner and the park pot luck. They will resume again on Wednesday, Dec 26.

January 2, 2019 – Let’s Hula! At 1pm we’re having a Hula open house. All are invited to listen, learn and try this fun, graceful, relaxing dance. There is no fee for this experience.

Ping Pong – Please join us on Mondays at 7pm in the Hangout Room for rousing games of ping pong – Everyone is welcome!

Pickleball Notice – The Drill Development times have changed. They are now: Tuesdays at 2:30pm and Thursdays at 1pm. See you there!

Tai Chi – Note the time change – classes begin at 8:00am each Tuesday in the Hangout Room.

Beginner Genealogy will meet Dec 26 at 10am in the Gambling Room. Please bring your lap tops or Ipads for looking information up. Please bring $1 for computer access. Everyone is welcome. If you are an experienced genealogist and would like to come help our beginners, it would be appreciated. Have a Merry Christmas!

The Wall that Heals scheduled to stop in Casa Grande – The Vietnam Memorial replica is coming in March. The over 58,000 men & women who gave the ultimate sacrifice will be remembered on the wall at the Dave White Regional Park from March 7-10. This is a definite must see.

Reminder: The small group of golfers who arrange the scramble golfing meet in the Quiet Room at 9am on Tuesday.

NEW YEARS EVE NON ALCOHOLIC PARTY…
This group of revelers meet in the Gambling Room at 7pm on Dec 31, 2018. Please bring snacks to share and your own table service and drinks. There are all types of games to play – cards, jokers, dominoes, and board games of all types. We will have the coffee pots on.

SUNDANCE ART GROUP meets every Thursday in the Hangout Room. We enjoy painting, zentangle and various other art forms. Come and join us or just stop in to see what we are working on. We are open to new ideas and mediums to work with, so if you have an art project you enjoy, come share with us!

The sign up sheet is in Activities just waiting for you to help save a life! Our blood drive is scheduled for December 28 from 8am to Noon in the Hole in the Wall. Give the gift of life this holiday season!

The Sewing/Quilting Room will be open until noon on Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day.

CALLIGRAPHY classes will begin Saturday, Jan 5 in the Hangout Room from 10-noon and run for 3 consecutive Saturdays. The sign up sheet is in the Activity Office.

HANDS ACROSS THE BORDER – Heads up Sundance residents! Can you believe Hands Across the Border is coming up? It’s true, and the evening of friendship, food, entertainment and prizes for the lucky ones will be held Feb 16, 2019. Never too early to save the date on your calendar. SUNDANCE LIBRARY – Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the Reading Room (library) volunteers. We will be meeting in the Reading Room at 10am on Monday, January 7th. Anyone interested in volunteering are welcome to join us.
Thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard to get the library cleaned and running this fall. We appreciate your efforts.
Library users are asked to return books to the basket. Do not try to return books to the shelves. New and unmarked books should be left on the table.
Lastly, we have taken approximately 75 duplicate books to the Casa Grande Public Library for their annual fundraiser book sale. We will continue taking additional books throughout the year.

The Orange (and other vegetables) Man will be here each Thursday in the parking lot effective Jan 3.

16th Annual Genealogy Workshop presented by Pinal County Genealogists is on Saturday, Jan 26, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints . If interested in attending this workshop from 9am to 3:30pm, please come see the flyer in the Activity Office.

Hiking – The hiking group will begin scheduled hikes on Wednesday, January 2. The first hike will be in the Usery Mountain Regional Park (Apache Junction). Wind Cave Trail is a 2.6 mile out and back moderate trail. Estimated time to get there is about an hour. We will meet in front of Activities and leave at 7:30am. The trail is well maintained but rocky in parts so wear proper footwear and bring poles if you have them. A snack and especially water is always essential. Sign up in Activities and indicate if you are willing to drive. Hikers give a $5 donation to the drivers and there is a park fee of $7 per car in Usery.
