REMINDER:

It is that time to start making next year’s reservations:  DEADLINE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS IS NOW THRU FEB 28.  Here are some guidelines:

PARK MODEL OWNERS – NO NEED TO RESERVE

RV ANNUALS – YOU MUST RESERVE.  OTHERWISE, YOUR SITE COULD BE OPENED TO OTHER RVers.  DEPOSIT REQURIED IS $200.

FOR ALL OTHERS, THE FOLLOWING APPLIES:

RESERVATIONS THIS YEAR DURING PEAK SEASON (JAN-MAR) WILL ONLY BE MADE FOR 3 MONTHS OR LONGER.  $200 DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED.  YOU MUST RESERVE THE SITE YOU ARE IN AS OF FEB 28.  IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A DIFFERENT SITE, YOU CAN PLACE YOUR NAME ON A WAITING LIST FOR A SPECIFIC SITE.  ON OR ABOUT MAR 15, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED IF YOUR SPECIFIC SITE IS AVAILABLE AND YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE MOVED.

IF YOU ONLY WANT TO STAY A MONTH OR TWO (JAN-MAR), YOU CAN PLACE YOUR NAME ON THE WAITING LIST AND LATER IN THE YEAR (APPROX SEP-OCT), THE STAFF WILL START OFFERING NON RESERVED SITES.  DEPOSITS WILL BE REQUIRED AT THE TIME YOUR RESERVATION IS MADE.

We are disappointed to announce the bus trips to Wild Horse and Lone Butte Casino have been cancelled for the remainder of the season.  We understand you are upset over their new regulations and fees.  If the Casinos reconsider and change their policies, we’ll let you know.

 Attention Canadians:  Your annual potluck is Sunday, Jan 28 in the Hole in the Wall from 3:30-6:30pm.  Just bring a dish to share and your table service.

MT, WY, N & S Dakota Potluck time!   Join us on Feb 3 at 12:00pm in the Hang Out room!  We’ll have coffee and drawings from our states.  Bring your table service and sign up for your favorite potluck delicacy in Activities!  See you there neighbors!

Mario Carboni – The Honky Tonk Rebel – will be here on Wednesday, Jan 31 in the Hole in the Wall at 7pm for a return visit.  He’ll be playing his keyboard, trumpet and singing all the songs we love. Tickets are $10 each and available in the Activity Office. You don’t want to miss this one!

Jan 30 – Lunch – $6 – Indian Taco – 11:30am

Are you ready for a good time?  Your Sundance friends and neighbors will be entertaining you at our Old Time Radio Show on Friday, Feb 2 at 7pm in the Hole in the Wall. Tickets are only $1 for the show payable at the door and exact change is appreciated.  Root beer floats will be available after the show for only $1.  Bring your neighbors are enjoy the fun!

Help support our Rock Shop!  There will be an ice cream sundae social on Sunday, Feb 4 at 2pm in the Hole in the Wall.  The cost is only $3 payable at the door.  Please come and enjoy!

Activities acquired a Giant Jenga Game for Western Days. However, if anyone wants to use it for a happy hour or block party, feel free to sign it out from the Activity Office.

A second AED has been installed out in the Sports Complex.  Location is in the Ladies Bathroom.  Signs have been made and posted.  Street # (1779) is now displayed on the wall.  In the event of an emergency these improvements will help with emergency response vehicles and the people rendering assistance to the victim.

Hands Across the Border Reminder!!

Tickets go on sale this Monday, January 29 beginning at 9am in the Hang Out Room.  Tickets will also be sold on a first come/first serve basis and will be $10 per person with a limit of 4 tickets per site.  Please use the entrance to the Hang Out Room at the parking lot north entrance.  Thank you.

MASA will be here Wednesday, Jan 31 at 11am in the Gamblin’ Room to present a seminar regarding air flights.  Lunch will be provided.

Pokeno will be played in Gamblin’ Room on Jan 27 at 7pm.

The Learnin Room (Library) is being reorganized and simplified.  Please be patient with us while we are working.  We will be closed on Thursday, Feb 22 from 9-3.  New volunteers are needed.  Call Kathy Despain at 815-488-7720.  Please leave your name and phone number if not answered.

The next Country Store will be Friday, Feb 2.  Over 50 vendors will be on hand and will have everything and anything you need for Valentine’s Day – plus, a free raffle will be held during the morning with terrific prizes.  Plan now to join us.

The Michigan Pot Luck is Tuesday, Feb 13, 2018.  We’ll be in the Hole in the Wall from 4-6pm.  All you need to do is bring a dish to share and your table service. The sign up sheet is posted in the Activity Office.  Please come meet the rest of us from our Great Lake State!!

Stained Glass…Tickets for our thunder gourd and saguaro stained glass are still available.  The drawing is Feb 5, 2018 at Monday morning meeting,

Stained Glass studio is open Monday to Friday.  Monitors are on full duty to help you with your project.  Everyone is welcome. Silvia Freer  #363

Hiking…The hiking group is off to a great start with more to come!  We meet on Wednesday mornings at 7:30am in front of Activities and information on hikes that are planned for each Wednesday will be posted by the Sunday before in Activities.  On Jan 31, we will be going to Picacho Peak State Park.  We have lined up a park guide for this hike and there will be the option to go to the peak and for others to do a more moderate hike.  For this hike we would like to have an idea of how many people will be going and have a sign up list in Activities.  Charles is an enthusiastic park guide and has had more than 600 summits on Picacho.  He is very knowledgeable in the geology, history and landscape of the park to make this a fun and interesting hike for all.  See you on the trails!

Reminders: 

ATV/off road vehicles are only to be driven from your site to out of the park.  Please! Do not use 4 wheelers to drive within the park.

Due to the increased car traffic, please us the designated parking spots for your golf carts and bicycles.

Pickleball…On Monday, Jan 29 from 10-12, The Paddleman will be at the court showing different paddles and offering help in choosing the right paddle for you.  At 9am Mondays, there will be lessons for new players.  Just show up.

Reminder…Sundance 1 Genealogy group will NOT be meeting Wednesday, January 31.

Don’t forget the Genealogy Workshop at the LDS Church on Cottonwood on Jan 27.

The Oiler/Coyote Hockey Game being played on Feb 17 will NOT be organized by the Activity Office as it conflicts with the Hands Across the Border evening.

Tues, Jan 30 at 11:30am, 12:45pm and 2:00pm

Thursday, Feb 1 at 11:30am and 2:00pm

Both day’s games are played at the Palm Creek ballfield.

Mark your calendars for Feb 9, 2018.  That’s when we’ll be showing the manufacturer’s video on how to properly use the exercise equipment in the Exercise Room.  We’ll meet at 10am in the Exercise Room and will also have residents demonstrate during the video.  All are welcome.

The Sundance 1 RV Resort Church will be holding our annual toy drive for the children’s wing at Banner Hospital through the month of February.  Please help us put a smile on a child’s face.  You may drop your toy donations in our tub in the Activity Office or bring to church on Sunday. Domingo DeGrazia & his Spanish Guitar Band are in Concert at the Paramount Theatre in Casa Grande on Sunday, Feb 25 at 3pm.  Discount tickets are available in the Activity Office for only $16.  Please sign up and purchase your tickets for a great musical afternoon.
